unpopular opinion: Fellow products try too hard to look expensive, but end up looking like high-tech trash cans I'm sure the coffee is great tho

Automating onboarding is not worth it. I’ve spent years trying to keep READMEs, .env.example, Makefiles, setup\.sh scripts, CodeTour, architecture docs and other things updated. Nothing beats a 1h-call with a senior developer on the team.

ai will almost certainly wipe out a massive number of jobs. but it might end up creating even more, & even if it doesn't it won't matter in the long term. this elimination is good. it’s progress. it frees humans from rote, bullshit labor, & hands time back to thinking,

until vendors agree on a standard, should we even commit .codex, .cursor, etc at all? in general, the more I work with agents, the more I think these configs are part of a personal workflow rather than shared repo tooling a generic undefined saying "you are

deeply regret not learning vim a few years ago juggling between cursor, terminals, opencode (another terminal), and browser is giving me headaches the IDE feels too heavy now, I just want a tiled terminal + chrome

my takeaway from this is that AI amplifies whatever your team/org already is orgs with low motivation, weak culture and process debt now ship bad decisions at 10x speed
