Today was my last day of medical school! I have graduation in a month, but I’ve completed all requirements, which feels absolutely surreal.

It just hit me that exactly 4 weeks from today I’ll be the 1st person in my family to graduate from medical school.

And 8 weeks from today, I’m moving across the country and then some to Hawaii for residency.

Being in this moment feels so surreal.

I remember when my son was about 6 he asked me earnestly, “Mommy, can boys be doctors when they grow up?”

It was then I realized his pediatrician, his godmother, my colleagues and I were all women🙃

“Only if they work very hard in school,” I replied
