Going through old local newspapers left in my house in Mid Wales - Great to see 30 year old news on Peatlands and the work of the RSPB Lake Vyrnwy agreement launched in 1993 - well done RSPB Cymru on all your work there since! (1/2)

Fantastic to spend the last 2 days at RSPB Llyn Efyrnwy with Board and Trustee colleagues. Beautiful site, great team, huge progress with over 1,000 hectares of peatland already restored, fantastic partnership working. So good for the soul.

Despite the shakey weather to start, we still had lots of fun at our Moth Morning today, plenty of species to sift through, identify & admire, plus a suprise wood wasp species we still need to ID! Diolch to all who came and shared the morning with us! RSPB Llyn Efyrnwy #lakevyrnwy

(1/4) Hafren Dyfrdwy informs visitors of road closures at Lake Vyrnwy after Storm Darragh causes extensive damage People visiting Lake Vyrnwy, are being told to avoid going around the reservoir – after Storm Darragh caused damage to the site, making most of the road unpassable.

(2/4) The extreme weather conditions have hit the site hard over the weekend, causing trees to uproot and fall on the perimeter road around the visitor site. This means the B4393, cannot be accessed on both the north and south sides of the lake due to the fallen trees.

(3/4) Teams are now on site to assess the scale of the damage and start a clean-up operation, but the road is expected to be closed for until after Christmas. Our team are currently assessing the trails around site, for now we recommend people don’t visit the wider site.
