Despite few frosty mornings, we are still 4 weeks ahead with a usual spring bloom. Persistent rain in February and mild temperatures manifesting the effects of the climate change. Unsure if I’m excited or concerned…🤷🏻‍♀️🌼🌷🪻

Our bees arrived yesterday at Celtic Manor Resort. We have a lovely quiet apiary over looking the 2010 course from where they have access to some fantastic foraging areas like this south facing bluebell slope GEO Foundation for Sustainable Golf

This afternoon we took a trip to ⁦theparkgatehotel⁩ and spruced up the courtyard with few new plants, ahead of busy summer season. Thank you team, another job off the list! ✅👏🏻👍🏻

This month we welcomed honeybees to Celtic Manor Resort in a bit to improve biodiversity 🐝🌼 Our estate already offers an abundance of food for honeybees, but we have introduced more wildflowers for additional foraging for the honeybees, other insects and wildlife.

Some fun facts: 🐝We now have 5 hives on site 🐝With around 175,000 honeybees now living here 🐝5 colleagues have been trained to be beekeepers and 2 more to be trained soon 🐝Celtic Manor Honey will soon feature on our menus and be available to purchase in The Mall!

Our bees are doing incredibly well in their first year! 2 colonies out of 5, had been given another supers for making honey! Hopefully, the other 3 aren’t far behind. 🤞🏻🍯 Gary Connell

Week of fabulous weather is resulting in watering duties to be increased to every day. Luckily wet weather periods in spring filled our reservoirs to the brim.

Decent results with summer bedding plants during, yet another so called summer. Wondering where the time has gone and time to order winter bedding!!

Yesterday we took our first honey from our bees Celtic Manor Resort and even after this bad summer they gave us a decent harvest. We have ensured that they also have enough left to eat and store for the winter Always a pleasure to be part of this incredible partnership.
