Sad news for UK astronomy history, as the Observatory Science Centre, custodians of the 1950-1990 site of the Royal Greenwich Observatory, are being evicted by landowners in 2026. I've put together a survey to collect objections from the UK astro community SaveTheOSC.com

Image of Mercury's sodium tail taken at the NAS Observatory. Stack of two over-exposed 30 second images, stacked in DSS using the comet setting. Mercury was 4 degree 28 arcminutes above the horizon when imaged and the Sun 10 degrees 32 arcminutes below the horizon.

Before the golden era of Clough and Taylor, Nottingham Forest's greatest success came in the 1959 FA Cup. Forest had won the trophy once, back in the late 19th century. They repeated the feat in the post-war era with a 2-1 win over Luton Town.
