Before you take 200 swings today - Without a plan - Without making adjustments Your goal should be to: - Know what you're trying to accomplish - Have a plan before each round - Focus on doing #1 and #2 Too many hitters think more swings = development

Christian was an All-Star this year. The sentiment here is that it’s easy to get lost in the season after a few minor changes in a row feel off. Sometimes you just need to talk it out. As Kevin Wilson says β€œHitting is a conversation”

1. In a lot of instances coaches do have to prioritize who they invest the most in. Sometimes this is called favoritism 2. Coaches still need to continually lead young men, and adult men for that matter in a way that empowers them to be their best regardless of their attitude

"The smallest package in the world is a man wrapped up in himself. I've used it, I've been it, I've worn it. What I've done over the years is develop a Mount Rushmore group - people who love me for me and want to see me become the best version of myself." β€” Clint Hurdle

Learned helplessness and needing to be spoon fed answers is very real. I’ll add Being willing to β€œfail forward” in your journey is a superpower. So whoever needs to hear this. It’s okay to make mistakes and admit them as long as the journey is to adjust rather than quit

Kids are not tiny adults. Exposing them to concepts with grace, love and empathy doesn’t even mean it will stick right away. Coaching is meeting players where they are, OVER and OVER again.

Mature coaches give players credit and take blame Immature coaches take credit and place blame β€œHe worked hard and got better” Vs. β€œI had him do x,y,z and he thrived in MY program” Be a library book. A resource for players to use on THEIR journey.
