“Formula milk should be sold in plain packaging to stop parents being exploited by marketing, the World Health Organization has said. Experts from the global health body said the industry was using packaging to promote brands at inflated prices.” dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1…

"Even partial breastfeeding in the first months of life can reduce the severity and rate of hospitalisation associated with RSV attacks" Breastfeeding ‘safeguards infants’ from respiratory infections irishtimes.com/health/2023/02… Great article by @paulcullenit in The Irish Times today

Yesterday I raised this UL research by Prof. Roy K Philip with the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar as one example of how doing more to support breastfeeding will have huge benefits for the country from a Preventive Health Care perspective. More infants breastfed = better protection against RSV.

I raised the need for more supports for those wishing to breastfeed with Taoiseach Leo Varadkar at a recent meeting following the publication of this research by Prof Prof. Roy K Philip on the reduced hospitalisation rates from RSV on breastfed children.
