Congratulation to the 2023 RST Doctoral Award winner, Dr Tobias Stål, for his significant advances in understanding Antarctica's deep and shallow structure and properties, helping to address knowledge gaps in plate tectonics and the interactions between solid Earth and cryosphere

RST Past President Mary Koolhof was honoured to represent RST at the Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre's 50th Anniversary, celebrating key achievements such as the establishment of the Aboriginal Legal Service, the revival of palawa kani, and the return of Aboriginal ancestral remains.

RST President, Prof. Jocelyn McPhie, represented RST at the first meeting of all six Australian Royal Societies, held recently in Canberra. The meeting shared valuable information on society operations, successes and challenges. Participants met later with the Governor General.
