I have been overwhelmed by kindness and support since Tuesday. There has also been a lot of comment about CDMs being unfit for purpose, so here are four brief thoughts. I am not the story here, but nor am I the storyteller. Others now need to address the unanswered questions.

This is really true shocking. The crux is - clergy shouldn't make witness statements to the The Church of England because they might get a CDM. We should only ever make statements to the police, because then we are protected. x.com/rowena_pailing…

I resigned from the CofE as part of my challenge to the cover up of abuse in Blackburn. @JustinWelby has not resigned or challenged. In fact he seems happy to perpetuate the cover ups of Smythe, Blackburn and many more. The tragedy of #Makin is that it says nothing surprising.
