It’s the 3rd of June which means the best festival of the year takes place THIS MONTH Chalke History Festival !🥳 A week of history talks, living history, performances, live music and so much more. A great addition of an evening programme for this year too!

I’m sat with a nice 🫖 reading the special issue of the Friendless Churches magazine which arrived in the post this morning — a perfect start to today as I’m feeling a bit 🤧. As a member, it’s great to hear the latest updates on the churches in their care. #heritage

It starts tomorrow!!! 🙌🙌🙌 James Holland sums up the magic of Chalke History Festival 👌 Please do come & join us! 👉 chalkefestival.com 23-29 June - tickets available online or on the gate #amazinghistory #historyfestival #wiltshire #historylovers #summerfun

Lovely late afternoon Chalke History Festival yesterday! ‘Chalke for Schools’ this morning, then full days of history from tomorrow through Sunday. Yesterday’s highlight: Gareth Russell & Lucy Hughes-Hallett on King James I’s love life. Roll on this afternoon! Glastonbury for #history lovers 😊

Had a great day at #UKSTEMConf25 hosted by Aston University! Grateful for the chance to share the workshop I ran earlier this year with colleagues from Nursing. Now back on annual leave and winding down, reflecting on some brilliant talks and posters.

If only every Thursday could be like this! Another brilliant day at Chalke History Festival. Talk highlights include Phil Craig and Robert Lyman, Okinawa by Saul David, Hiroshima by Iain_MacGregor1 (@iainmacgregor1.bsky.social), Frank Close and Michael Neiberg and The Golden Road by William Dalrymple! #history

Queen James by Gareth Russell is such a brilliant read, I’m struggling to put it down! It’s vivid, fascinating, vivid and so beautifully written. His talk at Chalke History Festival this year was my favourite.
