1/ A little known D-Day Fact: Today, 80 years ago, the 6th June 1944, 84 men from the Royal Air Force landed on Omaha Beach supporting American forces. 4 RAF Officers were awarded the Military Cross and 3 RAF Other Ranks were awarded the Military Medal.

Around this time 80 years ago today, numbers 15082 and 15083 GCI radar units were on their Landing Craft approaching Omaha and Gold beaches respectively.
