Paul Leafe usually puts a ring on every bird he can, yesterday he managed to put a ring on a beauty - his new wife Madalina. Great wedding day in Romania🇷🇴.Add Thrush Nightingale, Lesser Spotted Eagle, 2 Tawny Pipits (a local rarity) and many other birds and it was a top day 👍

Well that has to up there with one of my top birding moments. Just stumbled across a superb Ural Owl in deepest Transylvania. It watched me as I watched him. What a face! I’d read that its cuteness is misleading - luckily it didn’t take my head off. Shaking with excitement! 🇷🇴👍

Early morning explore around Petrilaca, Transylvania - great views of Grey-headed Woodpecker, another Ural Owl, 3 Red-footed falcons battling with Hobby + Kestrels, Icterine Warblers, Thrush Nighingales, Hawfinches, Firecrests, and I love the white headed Long-tailed tits🇷🇴👍

Batumi doesn’t get much better than when a Crested Honey Buzzard flies directly over your head!! Also supporting cast of a Steppe Eagle (lifer), Egyptian Vulture (lifer), 147, Booted Eagles, 1124 Black Kites and 23302 Honey Buzzards were a nice bonus 😍🇬🇪 #birding

We've had a good few weeks at Beddington, with Sandwich Terns, fall days (8+Whinchat, 49+ Chiff, 29+ Wthroat), Tripits, Spotfly etc. And of course today's fantastic Long-tailed Skua, nearly trod on by Jack Pettit. Glad to see the bird fly & disappear after two restless hours!

People on site did own thermal cameras, but with so many wildfowl and other birds present on Phase 3, it wouldn’t have been very useful 🤷‍♂️😬
