After spending half an hour on the phone imploring a diabetic for better glucose control prior to elective surgery, I realized...It takes more time explaining why patients don’t need a surgery than it takes to often do the surgery, and that is ok.

For new recons finishing training - I learned that if you want a hospital to purchase something expensive, like a perineal bookwalter (~18k), have them buy one or two pieces at a time. This will take a little time, but avoids large capital requests. 3 hospitals down.
