We don’t think it's too early to announce our 4th annual Rootstock Festival will take place on Saturday 21st June.  Here’s a few shots from last year’s event for you. We encourage you to add it to your diaries, although there is no way we will let you forget between now and then!

We decided to hand the prize to Neil’s Mum’s 60 year old red & white pot, filled with this week’s homemade veggie soup. Our weekly Wednesday “Gather and Grow” sessions start at 10am and we usually wrap up at 1pm after we’ve shared a meal. Everyone is welcome to join us, it's free

Thursdays at Rooted in Hull are for our women’s group, Rooted in Sunshine. They meet every Thursday from 10 until 1pm and all women are welcome to join us for a great place to connect whilst doing a bit in the garden, arts & crafts and of course, home-grown, home-cooked food.

You may see Martin riding around the city on our solar powered bike. Our site is a great example of carbon neutrality, We can demonstrate many technologies on site that serve to reduce our carbon footprint to zero, including solar panels, water collection and recycling.

Growing is well and truly underway down on the farm now. Everywhere we look onsite, there is a reminder of some work we have done and the ever present promise of something tasty to cook and eat!

Wednesdays deliver the magic at Rooted, again! As usual, we did some general maintenance around the farm and regular volunteer Scott busied himself gathering some fresh produce for the soup. We then sat down together and tucked into Martin's veggie soup. Delicious!

Between the heatwaves, Rooted is full of life's stunning rewards. Just look!

This Wednesday’s word was abundance! Can you see why?

Holly catches some air whilst celebrating pulling Kolin out of the ground. Kolin was happy to be roasted for today's tasty lunch of garden veg dahl. He was a beautiful kohlrabi full of flavoursome delight! The delicious homemade bread was supplied by regular volunteer, Scott.

Rooted in Sunshine is our women's group that meet regularly on a Thursday from 10 am. The women have been working on this piece of art that documents which bird species are pottering around us whilst we work! Available to come and see in our community gallery.

It's good when regular visitors start taking photos of the food they have cooked as a direct result of attending sessions at Rooted and making use of the veggies they have helped to grow! Here’s Rob’s soup and Richard’s sausage casserole. It's nice to make a difference.

Tractor Boys! No farm is complete without at least a visit from a tractor! This one came to empty our state of the art compost loo, but that didn’t stop us clambering all over it like a couple of kids at Digger land!

Did you know that there used to be an annual event called the Drypool Feast? Nor did we, until Humber Field Archaeology people told us about it! So here it is..... We've got theatre, talks, music, a Rooted grown stew, and obvs our famous pizzas.... 12-5pm, Sat 6th September

We remain eternally grateful to our friends at Avenues Open Gardens of Hull who have shared their donations with us as one of their chosen beneficiaries. They visited last week to present us with one of those giant checks, there it is look! From all at Rooted thank you.

Recently we shared the news that Martin had been nominated for a “Make a Difference Award” in the green category. Martin is actually a finalist and we will accompany him to the big reveal next week. Nobody will be cheering louder than us! Well done, Martin! #They’reAllWinners

Volunteering opportunities on Wednesdays at Rooted from 10 am. It's nearly honey harvest time (don’t worry we’ll let you know when it's available. The chillies should last us until next year after being hung to dry, not that we've tried the two together…yet!
