First time I was in Madison Square Garden was 1972. I’ve seen NBA games there, men’s & women’s college basketball, Stanley Cup hockey, a heavyweight title fight, Milrose Track Championships, Bob Dylan & Tom Petty. The energy there in a big event is awesome!

Just read “Wilmington’s Lie” by David Zucchino who skillfully documents violent overthrow of democratically elected multiracial government in Wilmington, NC by white supremacists. Nov. 10, 1898 was a successful coup that led to Jim Crow voter suppression laws. A timely read.

IMO, decision by to extend contract with for The Chevron Championship Championship thru 2029 and hike prize money is smart. Corps who get involved in women’s sports now are on ground floor of a growth spurt for far less financial commitment required to sponsor men’s sports.

Good scoring conditions for Moving Day at ⁦The Masters⁩ Warm sun, 8 mph wind with gusts to 18. Much better than Friday brutal conditions. A 67 or 68 by someone a half-dozen shots back throws them into the mix for Sunday. Schauffele? Koepka? Woods? A fun day to watch!

The skill of Tiger Woods is so immense it’s easy to overlook how his mind dissects a golf course and how hard he grinds. To play 23 holes in that wind and shoot even-par in Rd. 2 after so little competition & so many surgeries says as much about his resolve as it does his talent.
