CNN.com has a front-page article on the study. It quotes another scientist, “It’s blatantly obvious when someone points it out, but no one had thought of it for 100 and something years”. cnn.com/2024/09/05/sci…

There's an excellent commentary in Science as well science.org/doi/10.1126/sc… This work has clearly positive implications for live fluorescence and bioluminescence imaging of whole mice. Can't wait to see how it will change biological imaging in the future!

Rong Wang, PhD NAVBO That’s right 😀 - give one a fish, and they have fish for a day, teach one to fish and they have fish for a lifetime. Thanks, for all of the teaching! A mentee-mentor relationship is also a lifetime, thanks to you and the NAVBO community for all of the help along.

Sometimes single-minded dedication to a problem is the path to great science. I’ve never met someone more focused on a problem than David Baker. Among the postdocs at UCSF in the early ‘90s, none of us would have been surprised to learn there was a Nobel Prize in David’s future.

Despite strong headwinds our work continues. Ashok cheemala shows that even a single point mutation in TDP-43 leads to large defects in cell-cell junction and barrier, and that brain endothelial deletion disrupts the BBB and leads to FTD-like behavior science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…
