Interesting study..brain connections that cause Parkinson’s are different than those that cause epilepsy. The results go against the known narrative of comorbid Parkinson’s and epilepsy.

A clinically relevant study of VNS only vs VNS+DBS in childhood epilepsy. VNS+DBS led to less seizures & less bothersome seizures but no improvement in quality of life. I suspect we are going to see more and more patients/studies with dual neuromodulation.

1/ A woman presents after a v fib cardiac arrest, ROSC achieved at 30 mins. She has been comatose for 2 days. No sedation. Fever prevention has been achieved. 36 hours after arrest, she develops generalized myoclonus. This is a dismal prognostic sign… right? Image: PM 27351833

I'm looking for #MedEd people who are so kind to allocate their 10-15 mins to fill a survey form on #clinicalreasoning in their curriculum. It's 10 mins for you but a huge help for me. Please reply this tweet to let me send you the link. At least, you can repost this tweet.

In order to understand pathology, we first have to understand physiology. Let's look at the pathway of coordinating our eyes to move together when we want to look in one direction. Here's what happens when we want to look to the right. #medstudenttwitter #meded #strokemed
