High level clouds from the outflow of #HurricaneErin can be seen from the summit today. Erin will continue its northeastward movement as it parallels the Northeast coastline. The storm will stay well offshore, generating only high level clouds on the horizon today and tomorrow.

Wow, this November snow has been coming strong! Total snow so far this month has reached 42.5", well above the average snow for November (35.6"). The most snow on record at MWOBS for the month of November is 86.6" (1968). Records date back to 1932.

After more than a foot of new snow since Sunday, MWOBS staff were greeted by incredible views of towering snow drifts and thick rime coating the summit this morning. Month-to-date snowfall is now up to 60.4", bringing us closer to the November record of 86.6" with 11 days to go!

Last night (December 4th), an air temperature of -21F was measured at the summit of Mount Washington. This matched our daily record low for December 4th, originally set in 1976 and equaled in 1989 (records date back to 1932).
