We’re hiring an events person! Every organisation rests on the effectiveness of their events coordinator. You’ll get to do loads of interesting fun things as well as spend everyday with me

Ok so let me get this straight: Resident doctors received 2 above inflation pay rises since Labour came in Decided they wanted to strike before even receiving second deal Said they wouldn't accept anything under 5% in second deal Got 5.4% Now balloting to strike?

Rosie Beacon (@beaconrosie) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Let me absolutely clear: I think the remuneration of resident doctors has long been unacceptable & needs correcting. But the BMA's behaviour is also extremely unacceptable. Have a negotiating line & stick to it instead of undermining trust at every possible opportunity

They also managed to receive 5.4% - at a time when everything else humanly possible in government is being constrained or cut - without strikes. Balloting does not make sense to me. I don't think its benefits outweigh the (enormous) costs at all.

Everythingism must be stopped. At this rate I'm going to start threading the worst examples of policies which try to do everything, everywhere, all at once. 1/

Well, would you believe it… a Sinn Fein-run council trying to shut people up in the chamber. Pretty sure George Orwell warned us about this sort of thing.

You tried to spend £45 billion on unfunded tax cuts & borrow £72 billion in 2022-23. The Tories fell to 25 points behind in the polls. Why should anyone listen to you ever again?

Big tightening after 24/25-25/26. Reform – to 1ry care contracts, to PbR etc – shld have happened when money was looser, will be much harder now. Can’t see any shifts happening with 0% CDEL; talk of PFI seems to have died now too. 3% NHSE RDEL cld still offer a narrow path to 18w

What a treat when both sides of my job at PLMR come together nicely. No better example than my conversation with Robin Swann MP about his priorities as an NI MP, and his two tenures as Minister for Health. Listen to the full conversation here - open.spotify.com/episode/0uzq56…

🏛️🤝 For the first time in years, in this Parliament we have cross-sectional representation, with all parties who take their seats in Westminster now being represented - this should be a strength for Northern Ireland. Ulster Unionists in Westminster Ulster Unionist Party
