Ok so let me get this straight: Resident doctors received 2 above inflation pay rises since Labour came in Decided they wanted to strike before even receiving second deal Said they wouldn't accept anything under 5% in second deal Got 5.4% Now balloting to strike?

Let me absolutely clear: I think the remuneration of resident doctors has long been unacceptable & needs correcting. But the BMA's behaviour is also extremely unacceptable. Have a negotiating line & stick to it instead of undermining trust at every possible opportunity

They also managed to receive 5.4% - at a time when everything else humanly possible in government is being constrained or cut - without strikes. Balloting does not make sense to me. I don't think its benefits outweigh the (enormous) costs at all.

Everythingism must be stopped. At this rate I'm going to start threading the worst examples of policies which try to do everything, everywhere, all at once. 1/

Well, would you believe it… a Sinn Fein-run council trying to shut people up in the chamber. Pretty sure George Orwell warned us about this sort of thing.
