Killed this bottle at a friend’s house, over some fierce cribbage competition! I rather enjoyed this The GlenAllachie Distillery Speyside malt, and would highly recommend it.

The extensive notes that we offered the participants of the PDAC 2024 short course on exploration methods in glaciated terrain has finally been reviewed, edited, laid out, and published as GSC Open File 9210. The Open File is available here: doi.org/10.4095/pbmy2d…

Brought this POWERS Whiskey back from Ireland after the INQUA meeting in 2019, and finished it to end 2024. Absolutely delicious, and highly recommended. If I ever get back to the Emerald Isle, I’ll definitely replace this bottle!!

I was hoping to cut the 5 of diamonds… so rare even to get the opportunity to try for a 29, let alone get it. Been playing cribbage for 45 years, and still have not gotten a 29!

Happy Hockey Day in Canada! I was out on the canal in Ottawa today with my family, doing typical Canadian stuff, and was absolutely thrilled to do a sing along with this stellar Canadian, Tom Green 🇨🇦

End to a successful short course with both classroom presentations and hands-on field stops at #KEG2025. I want to thank KEG for their hard work and support to ensure a successful and smoothly run short course.

Finished this 12Yr WhistlePig Whiskey while battling over the cribbage board. American ryes are certainly not anything like great Canadian ryes, but the three finishing barrels do make this one delicious!

Bought this one 4 years ago, and every drop of it was delicious. Distiller’s Edition Talisker. If I could replace it, I would.

This was a gift from a colleague and friend, who vacationed in Tasmania last year, and brought it back to Canada. Both sherry and port finished, it was a fantastic single malt from Lark Distillery. Highly recommended, if you can get your hands on it.

A new paper came out while I was in the field. John Menzies and I worked on this model for two years. It is Open Access and available here: doi.org/10.2110/jsr.20…

New paper was published while I was in the field, on mapping glacial erratic boulders at surface using LiDAR, even in heavily forested areas. A collaboration between the GSC, U of T, NSDNR, and GTK (Finland). Paper is Open Access, and available here: doi.org/10.1016/j.geom…
