Gerry Glasco said one of the goals for next year is to develop pitchers and limit NiJaree Canady's innings throughout the regular season, somewhere between 150-175 before the postseason.

Glasco, asked about NIL, said he wonders why a female athlete like NiJa getting an NIL deal of her size is such a talking point compared to men. "Why is it different for a female athlete to be paid $1 million from a football player getting $3 million?"

Added he felt insulted at times listening to broadcasts and how much focus they put on Canady's deal. "To me that's not right. That shouldn't be that way."
