The Story Behind The Song: Part 1. "Alone Again (Naturally)" 💿 Here's the story of how I came up with the idea behind the song, how it came to be released and what it means to me. Which song do you want to hear the story of next?

OTD 22AUG1962 The #Beatles performed another lunchtime show at the Cavern Club on Mathew Street, Liverpool. It was also the first time that television cameras were present to film their performance. This surviving footage of ‘Some Other Guy’ was filmed this day. #TheBeatles

Make a note.. next week, there’s only one edition at 9.55, but it’s an extraordinary and laughable from ‘77 with Tony B. It’s got EVERYTHING… but it’s absolutely dreadful, plus we’re getting the full 44 minute version. Spread the word. #TOTP

He was a one-man fount of all pop knowledge, starting his record collection as a boy and still displaying the same enthusiasm into his seventies. Without him, there would be no Popmaster, on radio or tv. He leaves a giant gap in my life and in the lives of so many. (2/2)

Totally gutted to hear of the passing of the great Herbie Flowers. At a quick guess I reckon we played on at least 50 records together as well as touring with the band SKY in Australia . Not only a fabulous bass player and musician but also a true gent and a very funny man too

So very sorry to hear of the passing of Herbie Flowers. Apart from being a formidable musician / writer, his ability in coming up with bass lines, one no finer than that of Lou Reed’s “Walk on the Wild Side”, marked him out as someone special. For me, on “Nothing Rhymed”, nobody

Paul McCartney performing the last Beatles song "Now and Then" yesterday in Argentina while the audience cries. Few musicians connect as well as this man has done. #PaulMcCartney

I remember this well. I was in the audience. There were two gigs in one night. Martyn stepped in at the last minute to replace the aborted Stranglers gig the previous week, with the scheduled performance by the Rich Kids later on.
