All quiet and quite warm on the western front for Acadiana over the next week plus as we enter astronomical fall with highs in the 90s! Something could be up in the NW Caribbean, perhaps portions of the Gulf of Mexico in the always nebulas 8-10 forecast period...with the GFS

Looks like Hurricane Francine (and the wet tropical pattern the weeks prior to) left a little dent in the Gulf sea surface temperatures...but still plenty warm (and warming over the next week) as readings remain at or above 27°C - 81°F near the Louisiana Coast...the magic reading

Partial Lunar Eclipse for Acadiana tonight...provided skies are clear! It won't be much, but the moon will fall behind Earth's penumbra this evening dimming the super Harvest Moon for a while. A partial eclipse will occur and maximize at 9:44pm with a sliver of the silvery

Sedate and seasonably hot weather pattern for Acadiana into next week. Meanwhile we'll keep an eye on the Northwestern Caribbean into next week with a possible tropical cyclone developing and perhaps impacting the Eastern Gulf and Florida in some shape or form as yet TBD. NHC

Happening now thru the next 30min or so! A sliver of the silvery moon is in partial eclipse! It will cover a touch more than this at max at 9:44pm and disappear shortly after 10pm CDT! It's a super Harvest Moon so look for it to be nice and bright, especially after 11:30pm when
