There's a world of difference between consuming something shallowly and being immersed in something in a spiritual and visceral way.

The former barely registers in your brain.

The latter haunts your subconscious for a long time after watching.

Cinema gives you the latter.

It was delightful to do things outside with people.

Dropping into X for the first time today, and not really missing it.

Unplugging from the platforms is not just healthy.

It's mandatory.

Watching a video recapping rap/hip hop from the early 90s.

Arrested Development figures prominently in the video.

Given their Message, themes and outfits, would Arrested Development be considered woke today?

The stress that comes with launching a business venture, or producing a multimillion dollar film is the same.

It's the stress of diving into the unknown.

It's the pursuit of a vision by a dedicated group of people, being guided by faith.

Discomfort is a part of any big undertaking.

Stepping the unknown on a project that may not work.

Curiosity and drive are embedded in the strands of our DNA 🧬

To ignore this drive is to ignore a big facet of our humanity.

It takes a mindset shift to understand that plans are incomplete in the beginning.

Socio-cultural conditioning has us believing we need a detailed plan before taking the first step.

Mindset teaches us to act on what we have now.

The next step will reveal itself.

Confirming your individuality:

• In the same way that your 🧠 takes information in its own way, so you begin to see yourself as an individual with their own way of gathering and processing information.

• From there you begin to see yourself as a brand with no equal.

Everyone offers value, but value is relative.

If your meme made someone laugh, you gave value.

If your candid post took someone away from a dark place, you gave value.

Not everything has to be growth templates and wealth guides.

We all hear that gun at different times.

When did you first hear the starting gun that told you it was time to go?

I am not a fan of James Kochalka's work.

But I admire his output and philosophy to creating comics:

'Craft is the enemy.'

Huge takeaway for me.

It was the missing piece in my creative framework.

It told me to drop aesthetics and focus on telling the best story  I could.

One aspect of modern presentation of media we're missing.

Presentation.

Commodities, digitally mastered 4k versions of cult classics look and feel the same.

Inviting but not dangerous.

The impact of the Video Nasties was not in their content but in the way they looked.

There's a deliberate inversion in family values that parallel the incompetence displayed in current entertainment.

We're in a place in culture where the villain is the hero.

The villain is fighting to maintain family values through transgression.
