Using the 3i CTLS microscope to image collagen within cleared biomedical materials! We're continuing work with Gowsh Poolo UoB School of Dentistry imaging structure and cellular organisation. Collagen structure looks gorgeous, optimising cell probes now! See video in reply ⏬⏬

We've been imaging cleared bones recently with Royal Veterinary College (RVC) 🦴 Mark Hopkinson is interested in the vasculature inside them, he's a microCT guy and the images remind me of x-rays 🩻 Combination of Visikol Histo1 and 1:1 BABB (RI 1.53) to clear/image them - looking good!

A few weeks ago, AstridFabri from Lucy Walker Lab UCL IIT in collaboration with Daniyal Jafree UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health were imaging cleared pancreas and associated cells, examining immune dysfunction. You can see the individual cells in the islets. Great resolution 3i CTLS!🦠🔬

New preprint w. Eva Maria Funk & René Hägerling + lab Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin: we made a new tool to label lymphatics: anti-LYVE1 single-domain antibodies, AKA nanobodies (👇 video of kidney lymphatics, nanobody in white) Many other potential uses! biorxiv.org/content/10.110… UCL Child Health Kidney Lab

Strongly believe that more tools like this will be incredibly useful. I'm looking forward to making some atlases in the future at the organ level to provide rich datasets for researchers to mine.

This article is just as applicable for any microscope installation, not just a facility. Very interesting all of the considerations to be made, definitely a useful article for any multiphoton or super resolution fluorescence microscopy labs onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/jm…
