A group of students in #Singapore are advocating for the introduction of a #FreedomOfInformation Act in the city-state. Please check this page out and take a look at their proposal: foisg.com

#Singapore needs to think harder about the ethics and morality of this insatiable demand for sand, and the impact it’s having on other communities. It’s not enough to say that it’s okay for us to buy as long as there are agreements to sell.

Why does our national newspaper give airtime to such discriminatory sentiment? Bigots use every opportunity to advocate their narrow-minded worldviews. Following his logic, all large gatherings should go indoors. Why only this group of people? str.sg/JNFc

How can the global community stay silent to such racist, bigotry remarks from a self-proclaimed leader of the free world?! This is reminiscent of how Hitler blamed Jews for everything that's gone wrong. Americans shld be ashamed of themselves! x.com/realDonaldTrum…

This is what inequality looks like. An aspect of Singapore's society oftentimes glossed over by authorities to maintain the narrative of a successful city state. HDB home buyers don't want public rental blocks in vicinity: Study str.sg/JfnP

These are photos of meals provided to migrant workers confined to their rooms in dormitories declared "isolation areas" in #Singapore 'cos of #COVID19 clusters. Again Singapore has different realities: one for those of us who can isolate in hotels, another for low-wage migrants.

I’m not a political scientist who specialises in Singapore’s politics but as a concerned citizen born and bred in this tiny island city state, I’ll like to offer some observations. A long thread to share with those of you who may be keen on SG general elections yesterday. 1/

It warms the cockles of our hearts to be able to work for the people of Sengkang and for all Singaporeans. We hope that we’ve inspired all of you to believe that the dream of an alternative future is only as far away as the courage to seize the opportunities that come your way

How much power shld we give the govt for individual surveillance? S'poreans are feeling betrayed because of TraceTogether. The govt needs to restore trust. mothership.sg/2021/01/trace-…

What we're seeing here is a PAP candidate from GE2020 (in Aljunied GRC, his team lost) sharing disinformation from a known pro-PAP FB page insinuating that Sarah Bagharib's attempt to get accountability from @PAFrenz had some partisan agenda. It's not even her in the The Workers' Party photos.
