The message for the Queensland and WA Governments and others is that there are evidence based alternatives for kids in detention which will turn lives around at much less cost than the $700,000 per child per annum in detention. Cross party support is warranted. Justice Reform Initiative

This is true political leadership and a breathe of fresh air in Aus public life. Next steps need to include C’wealth and State investment to break the cycle and turn lives around. Beats spending 5 billion a year on costs of Aust prisons Justice Reform Initiative @chanseypaechMLA

"The unquestionable truth is that nuclear weapons are trained on the cities of the world, they are trained on civilians. Through the extended nuclear deterrence doctrine, they are poised to be unleashed on the people of the world." ICAN Ambassador Robert Tickner Evatt Foundation

Great to be back in wonderful Alice Springs working with Aboriginal community organisations doing such important work. justicereforminitiative.org.au/media_release_… Justice Reform Initiative

Panel discussion on driving social change at the #NTCOSSConference. Robert Tickner making the point that the NT will never be able to fund the investment needed alone. He urges the NT to create a sustained bipartisan campaign to get our fair share from the Commonwealth. We agree.

So important to remember what drives us towards #socialchange and how we sustain ourselves as well as the work. Great discussion with Cassandra Goldie🌈 Tangentyere Council Robert Tickner NTCOSS Health Justice Australia ACOSS Justice Reform Initiative
