This is unbelievable. We've seen over 130 tornado warnings across Florida today, all associated with Hurricane Milton. Multiple populated communities have been hit by strong to violent tornadoes.

Attention: never, ever wade out in storm surge waters.

This is the construction crane that collapsed and fell into the Tampa Bay Times building. The damage to the building is catastrophic collapsing multiply floors. The water lines broke flooding the building. #flwx #HurricaneMilton #SaintPetersburg

This is the most Florida thing. So many people on the beach checking out the waves after the storm. I’m not hating on them. I mean half the county lost power so what do you do?

9am post Milton update. I’m back home after a long day. Thank you for all the support during the storm. Flagler beach has become one of my new favorite towns. Despite going through a hurricane everyone was welcoming and in a good mood.

Not sure what exactly happened within the last 24hrs. From the violent eyewall of a record breaking hurricane. To a calm, cool and clear night under an aurora. All in the same place. In Florida. I’m at a loss for words entirely. The last FL aurora event was merely months ago…

Sorry pals looking for an aurora tonight, looks more and more unlikely as things have calmed. The planetary K-Index needs to be a 8 or 9 for a good viewing event, especially for lower attitudes. Right now it's back in the calm category.

The Gulf of Mexico is closed for business for at least the next 10 days by a blocking ridge over the E US and a trough off the East Coast. If a tropical system forms it will be blocked, when it reaches the fork in the road it will either duck south or be sheared northeast. WFLA NEWS
