Think Spring! Today, we broke ground on new Stevenson baseball/softball fields and tennis courts at 16 Mile/Dodge Park. The project is the first of four athletic improvements getting started at each of our high schools, thanks to UCS voters. bit.ly/4hiuuZj

Great turnout tonight at our Parent Network. This group provides important input into our planning initiatives.

We are fortunate to have a Board of Education in UCS that serves our community with a single vision - empowering our students for their future.

It was great to recognize our Teachers of the Year again at the MISD celebration - Lindsay Zurinsky, Jeannette Junior High and Roseanne Varga, Schuchard Elementary. Eric Wells from Ike was not able to attend the event, but we also honor the difference he makes in UCS.

It was great to be with our 6th graders today for an impactful and memorable Career Focus Luncheon. Thank you to the UCS Foundation and Connect Macomb for an empowering student event, and to the business professionals and community leaders who joined us as student mentors.

I am pleased to invite our entire community to see the amazing work of our student artists. UCS art teachers are sponsoring the annual K-12 art fair this week, with more than 5,000 pieces on display. I hope to see you there!

Yesterday we held a groundbreaking ceremony at Henry Ford II High School for their new softball and baseball fields. The student athletes I met were incredible- poised, selfless, and they recognized the immense amount of community support that is behind these field improvements.

This week's K-12 art show was nothing short of spectacular and a great representation of what occurs in our classrooms every day. Thank you to the entire UCS art department for making this showcase possible.
