Minimum viable project. That must be the mantra of anyone trying to do new, hard things. Every other goal, no matter how laudable, is a distraction. When the core project is so inherently beneficial to Britain then *build first*, spend the proceeds when they’ve been earned.

We estimate that CPS increased prices for electricity consumers by £3.50 for every £1 in tax revenue it raised for the Treasury in 2024.

The carbon tax on electricity helped gas to kill coal ✅. But increased prices no longer help decarbonisation - all clean energy sources get guaranteed support outside of the wholesale market. Encourage electrification and growth with a 4x multiplier tax cut!

The real challenge is electrifying the economy so clean power replaces fossil fuels. But with electricity 4x the price of gas, that won’t happen. Electrification is the key to net zero, energy security, lower bills and growth - yet the current mission makes it harder.
