Great the hear the drumming of a great spotted #woodpecker at Attingham this morning. This drumming is usually a form of communication mostly used to mark territories & another sign #spring is coming as they drum & display to potential mates!

🌊 Do you know what a catchment-based approach to managing #flood risk is? 🤔 Rather than tackling issues in isolation, this approach looks at the whole #catchment, bringing together organisations, communities, and landowners to help slow and store water to manage flood risk.

Rivers may look inviting in this warm weather, but the water is much colder than you expect. Jumping in can lead to cold water shock, which can result in drowning. Remember #FloatToLive. It could save your life. National Fire Chiefs Council #RespectTheWater

Here's how our field team go about cutting grass on steep embankments like at this flood storage reservoir near Horncastle in Lincolnshire. We undertake this work to help improve the root network of the embankments which helps prevent erosion.
