Last night I attended a serious flat fire. It was the first time I have seen one of our new smoke curtains in use. Great piece of kit well received by the crews. Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service implemented as one of the Grendel recommendations. Great effort by all crews.

Very proud that two of my team were short listed for ‘Team of the Year’ in our People Awards 2022. They didn’t win but the recognition is well deserved. Congratulations to Wincanton Fire Cadet Instructors. Great virtual awards hosted by Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service

It is with great sadness that we join with members of the fire service community, the whole country and people from across the world in mourning the passing of Her Majesty The Queen, our loyal Patron of the past 69 years bit.ly/3RsTn87

Another interesting incident for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service Torquay & Paignton Fire Crews. A 12 year old child had become cut-off by the incoming tide on a section of the sea wall. Crews worked collaboratively utilising JESIP with Torbay Coastguard and RNLI Torbay to safely effect the rescue.

Last night I had a great visit to Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service #NewtonAbbot fire station. The main purpose of the visit was to say a huge THANK YOU & WELL DONE for raising over £3000 for the Fire Fighters Charity at their car wash on Saturday! 👏 Good to see the newly installed Defib in place too!
