When someone dies of an overdose in jail, it's typically after just one day of incarceration. Intoxication deaths in jails increased 381% between 2000-2018. Jails are no place to recover from a substance use disorder. Cities should invest in community health centers instead.

Cornell students successfully defended the Liberated Zone tonight with no suspensions, arrests, or disciplinary violations — solely due to a massive swell of community support that formed three rings around the encampment to defend students into the night.

Officially defended my dissertation and graduated! So much has gone into this and I wouldn’t be here without the support from my wonderful committee Sabrina Karim, Gustavo Flores-Macías, Bryn Rosenfeld, and Ken Roberts (also a huge thank you to my external reader Alexandra Blackman) ✨

Research from CornellArts&Sciences finds that when it comes to politics, rural and urban white Americans differ greatly in their views, whereas rural Black and Latino Americans differ far less from their urban counterparts. @SuzanneMettler1 Taylor & Francis Research Insights news.cornell.edu/stories/2024/0…

I am writing a book 📝✨ Coming soon from Lens and Pen Press - Ugly Head urges readers to bear witness and grapple with legacies and modern manifestations of conservation injustice. Ugly Head challenges us to re-learn and to center care in conservation science and practice.

Receiving an award is lovely, but awkward. Having someone talk about you in front of a room full of colleagues will never not be weird to me. Nevertheless, I am grateful that Charley Willison was the one to do it. I was honored by the genuinely kind words she shared tonight.

There is targeted campaign of intimidation and harassment against me from Cornell’s administration and police. I have been suspended again. I had no chance to dispute the charges, nor see the evidence or appeal. They informed me that I am effectively being deported by the weekend

Cornell admin has used a series of dishonest substitutions in making case agnst Momodou ✊🏿. Phrase "any means necessary" stands in use of such means; brushing past police stands in for assault; noise stands in for physical harm; and finally MT stands in for other students.

Looks like Kamala Harris will not win the south end of Dearborn, an area 90+% Muslim that Biden won with 88% of the vote 4 years ago.
