#Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the USA. On June 19, 1865, Maj. Gen. Gordon Granger issued an order ending slavery in Texas - more than 2 years after the Emancipation Proclamation. The day now celebrates family, friends, freedom and the triumph of the human spirit.
