The challenge for new Cabinet Committee and govt as a whole is to properly plan *and* deliver ethical assessments and services for disabled people which fully meet UNCRPD and recognise the cost of disability. Employment does not make disability disappear or substitute supports.

It can be lose-lose for some tenants who ask the council to push their landlords to fix up substandard apartments. It can anger the landlord, alert the council it shouldn’t be paying to subsidise rent for such a place and risk leaving the tenant homeless. dublininquirer.com/2024/04/10/it-…

Never forget, when you’re being asked to prove that safe bike-lanes or pedestrian crossings across unsafe conditions are ‘needed,’ it's hard to justify a bridge by the number of people swimming across a raging river.

I commend the states in United Nations Human Rights Council who voted to pass a resolution calling to halt arms transfers to Israel at this critical moment. Next step for all states is to enforce this as well as recent UN resolutions to stop the ongoing genocide in Gaza. This is in line with states'
