We look forward to our new project "ROGER - EO-based #rockglacier mapping and characterisation", funded by the FFG. In collaboration with Universitetet i Bergen, we will use various #EarthObservation data and methods to study rock glaciers in Austria and Svalbard, Norway. Geoinformatics Salzburg

Fieldwork that brings together remote sensing, mapping, stratigraphy and geochronology is already fun. But just look at the landscape, isn't it fantastic? And yes, Northern Sweden and Finland (part of Sápmi) host aeolian dunefields!

We had another exciting week in northern Finland in the framework of our ArcDune project: field validation of #remotesensing-based mapping results, incredible #dune stratigraphies, and new ideas on sand dune development in a fantastic landscape. We had a very great time at the 13th Advanced Training Course on Land Remote Sensing: Snow and Glaciers in Innsbruck and learned more about the application of SAR data and analysis in in the context of snow and glacier analysis.

Very interesting first day at the Disaster Research Days with stimulating panel discussions and keynotes. A common issue among the discussions is that there is still a strong need to strengthen the collaboration and exchange between research and stakeholders.
