According to Chinese news media, Yang Hansen will NOT be playing for China in the FIBA Asia Cup tournament and will instead be staying in Portland for the summer with the other young players for optional training/pickup runs english.news.cn/20250724/a2265…

Jrue Holiday on Yang Hansen: “He’s been a superstar. He’s been hooping. We were talking about it earlier, how much media he’s had in Vegas. He deserves it. He’s been doing his thing. I’m not sure anybody saw how well he would play, but he’s been playing well. I’m excited.”

Jrue on playing for Chauncey Billups: "I'm excited. I've always been a big fan of Chauncey. I'm a little older than these young guys, so got to watch Chauncey in his prime, especially Detroit, growing up a Lakers fan. Being able to be coached by a Hall of Famer is pretty cool."

Jrue on Scoot: "Scoot is aggressive. How he gets to the basket is amazing. Me being able to space the floor and shoot the three is something that will help him out. Being able to play off him and knowing that Scoot is the next one up and [helping him] showcase what he can do."

On the latest speculation about the Blazers leaving Portland, which is following a familiar playbook of public negotiating for a new arena: rosegardenreport.com/if-the-trail-b…

What I actually wrote (rosegardenreport.com/mailbag-where-…) was that nobody should be guaranteed a starting spot based on salary/tenure. I have no idea in early August who's going to end up winning what role in training camp in October.
