collapsed on the stairs wailing. She then pulled out her phone and dialled her son shouting ‘Barry! He’s dead, Barry! Mr Walking Dance Man is dead’ She then recovered and she took me into her living room and showed me her collection of Princess Di photos. High point amongst grief

She turned up to the funeral wearing a huge black hat, a leopard faux fur coat and a gold topped cane and held court amongst my Bristol kin. Amazing woman!
