Delegates Can Vote in the Committee of the Whole but Their Votes Can't Be Decisive Twitter remains one of my favorite Twitters.

Fun fact: The bill has not yet been passed.

(The vote on tabling the motion to reconsider was postponed.)

Ira 'Greybeard Homer' Goldman πŸ¦†πŸ¦†πŸ¦† ringwiss Count me in. This is a rule that made several measures in order. Adding another measure as an amendment should be allowed. That's a precedent I am ready to set.*

*I would also just like to see the chair overruled in the House in my lifetime.

Eric Michael Garcia Mucking with the rules roster is just rearranging the deck chairs. It's not as if any rule that roy or norman block has a prayer on the floor anyway. Preoccupation with committee is odd to me at this point when 7 rules they reported favorably have gone down.

Kind of hilarious Senate theater going on now.

Senate Republicans voting not to recess for the weekend out of preemptive protest to Democrats not holding Mayorkas trial β€” and then quickly running out of the Capitol to catch their flight

Long-story-short, with a h/t to ringwiss in between, I stumbled upon this today: One of the 9 times in 1973 the House defeated a rule... but not before defeating the previous question on the rule, if for naught. Indeed, by the vote on the PQ (193-209)...
