Two cancellations from Air Canada in two days and stranded in Toronto. Thankful for my friends in the city, but conferences are exhausting... I want to go home!

If Canada wants to be a leader in R&D it needs to do something to ensure it’s labour source isn’t worrying about eating and paying the bills. Graduate students contribute to the expansion of knowledge, but Canada won’t pay them a living wage.

Volunteering with LPS has been such a rewarding and enriching experience in my scientific career! I loved communicating with my pen-pal, and introducing them to the amazing world of ecology and eDNA 🧬🐟. An amazing way to hone those #scicomm skills too! 📝

After a bit of tinkering, my new website is finally live! I'll be adding things periodically (a blog coming soon 📰), but I wanted to finally get it out to the world! 🤓👋 rinaguxholli.ca

Please RT! I'm looking to get short statements from queer marine scientists & biologists (& related fields) about their experiences being queer in their fields. Any level of experience or career is okay, anonymous statements are possible. DM me here on Twitter or email me!

I had the pleasure of writing a piece about my MSc work for the CMOS Bulletin a few months ago. So happy to see the piece is finally out (in English and French)! Check it out 👋🧬🐟✍️

Canada’s two largest metros, Toronto and Montreal, see six trains per day in each direction that take a little more than five hours. Madrid and Barcelona are the same distance and see 35 trains per day each way, taking as little as 2 hours and 30 minutes. Canada deserves better.

Something that I wish all #science #undergraduates knew: Cite a paper for its own findings (simply put, something in that paper's Results section). DO NOT cite a paper for something that it cites another paper for. Go to that other paper, read its Results, and cite that one.

One of my daughters just asked: "Should I use an Oxford comma?" Yes! Of course. Always. It makes writing clearer, more readable, and logical. #TeamOxfordComma
