This weekend, our students at the AMKC vets unit had a lively debate on the topic "Resolved: Should colleges have to compensate NCAA athletes?" Each debater gave 3-4 minute speeches, plus rebuttals. They loved the topic, and can't wait to do more debates!

On Saturday our students debated whether trans people should compete in sports according to their gender identity. Despite strong efforts by the opposition, the government team, in support of the resolution, won the round, thanks in part to an inspiring closing speech from Bruno.

RDP is saddened to learn that our colleague Lewis Conway has passed away. Lewis was one of the finest finest debaters, speakers, and advocates we have ever known. He was charming and brave and kind. We will miss him immensely, and our thoughts are with his family.
