There is absolutely zero grounds to state that "censorship at the hands of the government now sadly is the norm." Free expression is intact. Freedom of expression doesn't guarantee you a platform, nor does it mean your expression is free of potential consequences.

In Canada, you have the option to remove your child from both religious studies and sex education at any time. However, you do not have the option to remove other people's children from those same classes. *Reminder for those protesting, your province sets the curriculum.
