Recently, 5 RIFLES’ Anti-Tank Platoon were on EX LIGHNING in the Urban Training Area, Sennelarger, Germany conducting the Urban Battle Craft Syllabus. This included the planning and execution of day and night missions which incorporated observation posts with Javelin and NLAW's.

Recently, 1 RIFLES sent a group of Riflemen to the Red Sea to scuba dive on Ex HURGHADA CHALLENGE. The team qualified 11 Advanced Ocean Divers, four Dive Leaders and two Advanced Divers. Special thanks to @andys_motors and @forcesmutual for sponsoring the team.

On this day in 1944, D-Day took place and saw one of our antecedent regiments, the 2nd Battalion Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, carry out the very first action that took place several hours ahead of the main landings, at 0015 hours.
