In all the Herald Sun generated talk about ‘the Dan Andrews bike crash’ I haven’t seen one mention of the intersection. It’s a terrible design for both people riding bikes and people driving cars.

Dear Bike Riders everyone needs to provide feedback to Victorian Government engage.vic.gov.au/black-forest-d… that the proposed redesign of Black Forest Drive is not good enough and that you don’t accept their position that reducing the car lanes and providing bike lanes is ‘not negotiable’.

Todays entrant in the worlds shortest bike lane comes from outside Mascot Public School in Sydney. And what’s with the weird pointy green paint?

Is this Australia’s best bike bridge? Great Victorian Rail Trail over the Goulburn River just out of Molesworth. Surely top 10?

This is huge.

After years of frustrating delay, works to add separated bike lanes on St Kilda Road get rolling next week.

Sign of the day from Darwin. Not usually a fan of dad jokes but love this. Seems subtle too like I won’t be hassled in there to buy stuff

Personally I think bikes are meant to move, but if I had to spin bike I’d rather the Darwin Waterfront early morning than in a gym

Just 10 days left to nominate for the @Bicycle_Network Board. Happy to chat to anyone thinking of putting their hand up to represent the members and help improve conditions for people on bikes. Just send me a message.

Wonder if the ‘residents’ know that living near bike lanes and paths increases the value of your house? So upsetting that the promise of pop up bike lanes isn’t being kept.

Love that my local shops are providing more parking for bikes but I’m not really sure what the big yellow bike is for?

I’m always equal parts impressed, amused and annoyed when I see this gold standard protected bike lane outside Vic Roads in Kew Melbourne: it’s only 200 metres and the connections are awful

This new study shows how far we have to go in Australia to make bike riding part of everyday. We have high bike ownership with low use and high car ownership with high use. Japan has high bike ownership with high use and high car ownership with low use. doi.org/10.1038/s43247…
