Hubby is in the capable hands of my surgical colleagues Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, I cannot praise this team enough. Having watched this team struggle in a WW2 building for decades to see them deliver outstanding care to their patients in their new unit is humbling. Very proud. Very thankful.

Really enjoyable morning with Jane Thurlow facilitating the NHSE Workforce, Training and Education – SW Beyond the Supervisor workshop, hoping to inspire and develop the faculty educational leaders in our region

An excellent project Hugo Cohen and a well deserved The Royal College of Surgeons of England prize. Congratulations. We need to support trainees to accurately record and reflect on their operative performance to enable appropriate ongoing training and development.

Some really thought provoking talks to kick off the SouthWest Robotic Symposium. Iain Cameron representing AUGIS on safer chole, Steve Hornby on the evolution of robotics, Deena Harji on robotic in EGS and John Findlay on hernias.

Interesting insights from Shakil Ahmed, Kat Baker 💙 (née Gash), Richard Bamford and Jane Blazeby on how we developed the team, train the next generation and develop future research questions in robotics in the second half of the SouthWest Robotic Symposium.
