Poor Ohio teachers. Anyone that has taught in a classroom knows this is a bad idea. It’s been tried before.

Dang! I can’t imagine any scenario where I would have a seventh grader do this workout.

I used to be a Monday long run disciple. But the last 4 years I have moved to a 10 day long run cycle and I like it so much better. There are less injuries and I can fit in another workout day. It also hasn’t seemed to affect anyone’s performances either.

I will die on the hill (no pun intended) that the Unity Christian course in Hudsonville is the hardest course we have run in Michigan. They have a hill with loose footing you run twice, and the rest of the course is run on thick grass that is soft so energy return is minimal

This year I told myself that I would not let track get in the way of my own fitness this season. Since I coach two mornings at 5&6am I need to workout on Sundays. So it is up at 4:30am to workout before church.

Two of our Sophomore boys got the EQ times yesterday at WO. These were two boys that saw those times when they were first released and believed they could hit them.

My biggest pet peeve as a track coach. Is when athletes bring a ball from another sport and start throwing it around and kicking it around especially on the infield.

We do something similar once a week all summer. We do usually about 15 to 20 seconds on each rep, and have it be about a 800 to 1 mile pace. As the season progresses, we make the sprints, faster and faster.
