We believe that business has a bottom-line interest in protecting democratic institutions. On #ElectionDay, we urge every candidate & election official to uphold our country's democratic norms, electoral processes, and rule of law. 🧵 of 4 principles we suggest they follow:

1. #Elections must be conducted according to the rule of law without partisan bias. 🤝

2. Eligible #voters must be able to exercise their right to participate in a transparent, safe, and secure electoral process without undue barriers. 🔐

3. #Candidates and election officials must promote a peaceful election process free from intimidation or threats of violence against election workers and opponents. ☮️

4. Claims of election irregularities must be submitted in good faith for judgment by the judicial system in accordance with the #law, and all participants must accept the outcomes of adjudication. ⚖️

Many results will not be known tonight, as all legal votes must be counted which will take time. We ask every candidate, election official, and public servant to put country first by acting in accordance to these principles and help restore election confidence. #Democracy 🇺🇸
