Today we're taking our #FightForFlash to parliament, and urgently calling on MPs to give access to this life-changing technology to everyone who can benefit - no matter where they live. The event will kick off at 2.15pm - follow APPG for Diabetes for live updates from the meeting.

Dr Ng explains the cost-effectiveness of investing in technology: “A 0.4% reduction in mean HbA1c would save the NHS £995 million over the next 25 years. Such modest improvements in control can generate huge reductions in costs of complications in people with diabetes.” Prof May Ng OBE 吳 诗 梅

APPG for Diabetes Tamara is the all-important patient voice of diabetes - also mother of son with #T1D - says having #FreeStyleLibre in the past would have reduced the complications she now lives with.

APPG for Diabetes today in parliament highlighting the postcode lottery on access to technology. Commissioning decisions vary enormously. Chair Keith Vaz recognises the barrier it creates and that we must address.

jonathan whytock APPG for Diabetes Keith Vaz Diabetes UK @JDRFUK Keith Vaz very clear: you'll see it in the report. Critically, Flash is not the only tech. Others failing to be adopted by #CCGs and clinicians include digital education, pumps and CGMS. Pratik Choudhary was eloquent as was @DrGMagic. Partha S Kar 🇮🇳🇬🇧🏏🎥 NHS Diabetes we've much more to do!

Rob G ABCD T1 Diabetes Clinical Collaborative-UK ABCD Diabetes This is the irony of #type1diabetes #T1D management and NHS England prescription policy: if no blood glucose measurements are available how much insulin do you dose? Insulin cannot be withheld yet strips and #libre #CGM can - one without the other = danger.

NICE has provisionally decided not to update NG3 Diabetes in Pregnancy guideline. If you disagree let Russell Drummond know by 29th May as he will give ABCD Diabetes response to consultation.
