Both Donald Trump and JD Vance were asked about lowering child care costs. Trump gave a nonsensical response suggesting "tariffs" would somehow magically make child care affordable. Vance said grandparents and other relatives should help out more. These are not serious people.

The fact that this is allowed to happen in any modern society is profoundly appalling and staggeringly stupid.
