Their suffering comes at a huge cost. The Government's own figures show it costs 5.5x more per night than the taxpayer would pay to give these people a safe bed in a community home (£132 per night in a camp vs £23.25 in a home). And that's not even counting set up costs.

Quick reminder that the men who were sent to live in disused army camps at Crowborough amid local protests this week could have been given safe homes in ordinary communities - at over 5x less cost to the taxpayer. This cruelty is costing us all.
